The Q4 district in Venlo is being developed into a vibrant part of the inner city with its character: space for creativity and culture as well as urban and entrepreneurial, where both young and old like to come.

Together with Mieke Ummels, Ontwerpstudio Schmitz developed an outdoor kitchen and living room concept for the neighborhood. They designed a unique floor print that emphasizes the function of the place. The concrete floor of the outdoor kitchen consists of graphic elements such as cutlery. The street furniture invites us to eat together with the neighbors, drink a cup of coffee with a passerby or read a book in the 'living room'. The floor is a real Persian carpet in which living accessories can be discovered. The decor surprises entertain and connect. The inhabitants of Bolwaterstraat take care of the herb plants together and provide the utensils for the meals.
