More quality of life in Bochum thanks to 1,000 new benches

Take a seat, linger a while and take a well-deserved break: 1000 additional benches in Bochum (DE) will soon invite you to do so. By the end of 2020, the sojourn quality of the entire urban area should be significantly improved. To achieve this, the city of Bochum launched the '1,000 benches for Bochum' campaign in May 2019, responding to the demand from citizens for a higher quality of stay in the city center and residential areas. The 1,000-banks program works according to the 'make two from one principle'. ''For every donated bench, we placed one more ourselves'', explains Mayor Thomas Eiskirch. By now, more than half of the benches and loungers have been placed.
