New street furniture for station area in Delfzijl
The station area in Delfzijl has been fitted with new litter bins, bollards, and sitting green elements. This allows train and bus passengers traveling to and from Delfzijl to walk safely around the station building. In addition, the eight Constructo 102 litter bins ensure that the area around the 136-year-old station remains clean.

The goal
The redevelopment aimed to improve the accessibility of the city center and to make the station area more attractive, greener, and more pleasant. Grijsen was selected to supply litter bins, bollards, and sitting green elements. The layout of the station area also takes visually impaired passengers into account. For example, the paving has been provided with guide strips and the Grijsen poles have been fitted with Braille lettering to indicate the platforms.
Sitting-green combination
To provide travelers with a pleasant, green, and attractive environment, it was decided to place two seating green elements. These green seating elements are a planter and a bench in one. In this way, the traveler can wait in peace for the next train or bus. The elements consist of a base of corten steel and a seat of FSC 100% hardwood. A seating green element is perfect for creating a green accommodation efficiently.
The new Constructo II
In the city of Groningen, several Constructo II bins have also been placed around the station. These bins have been given an AKZO coating. This coating gives the bins a matt and stylish finish.
The design of the Constructo 102 is based on that of Constructo 100. Changes have been made to make its use as pleasant as possible. The visitor to the public space can easily throw his/her waste into the bin because the opening slopes inwards. This prevents waste from lying on the edge of the bin and making it too dirty and unattractive to use.
