Impressive outdoor benches at outdoor location University of Applied Sciences
In Amsterdam East, we find the school complex Amstelcampus. The Kohnstammhof is the courtyard at the back of this complex. This courtyard is the official entrance to the listed buildings Kohnstammhuis and Theo Thijssenhuis and therefore deserves a representative decoration.
Commissioned by the Hogeschool van Amsterdam and in collaboration with T.I.B. Architects, Grijsen developed and placed three beautiful custom-made benches. We were involved in this unique and exclusive project from beginning to end: from the first sketch to the digital product design. Our goal was to give students and employees a meeting place. This goal has been generously achieved. The square is now also accessible to residents.
