Quadrat litter bins enhance exclusive Chelsea Barracks residential area
Chelsea Barracks, once a military barracks, is now an exclusive and luxurious neighbourhood in the heart of London. After its military function, the site was purchased by investment fund Qatari Diar in 2008. It gradually transformed into one of the most prestigious residential areas in the English capital. Despite several rejected master plans, the project finally received the green light for a definitive master plan in 2014, after which the large-scale renovation of the barracks began. The transformation took place in several phases, with construction of the first phase beginning in 2015 and the first residents moving in in 2019.
Litter bins with a personal touch
To complement the refined appearance of the residential area, various litter bins were supplied that match the aesthetics of the surroundings. Depending on the location, the colours IGP-DURA xal 4201 (matt black) or AKZO Bronze 2525 were chosen, resulting in subtle additions to the outdoor space that do not stand out too much. The Chelsea Barracks logo is incorporated into the top cover of the waste bins, contributing to the recognisability of the neighbourhood. In addition, the door panels of the waste bins feature the words “Litter” and “Recycling” to help visitors separate waste correctly.
