Quay walls with stylistic decoration along the canal
The municipality of Stadskanaal redeveloped the Turfvaart and the main street to give the village center a quality boost. The appearance of both the canal area and the shopping area has been greatly improved. The recreational function of the canal area has noticeably increased.

Stylistic decoration
Roelofs Advies en Ontwerp developed a proposal in which, among other things, the quay walls were given a stylistic touch. We mounted benches on the wall, allowing people to alternate strolling along the new canal banks with pleasant breaks by the water. Along the main street, we installed Tail benches, inviting people to take a seat and have a chat. The tree grids in Stadskanaal are also by Grijsen.
