Modern outdoor benches in a neighborhood with historic character
The Jerusalem Bloks G and H projects in the Watergraafsmeer district draw attention to the significance of urban renewal. Both projects contribute to the upgrading of early post-war housing by focusing on lively plinths, cultural heritage, and good housing plans that suit the new residents.

Grijsen also contributed to the project Jerusalem Blok G & H. With four beautiful outdoor benches, the residents received, in addition to a beautiful home, a lively outdoor location to gather. The four benches are specially tailored to fit even better with the design of the environment. The purchase of the furniture was in the hands of the company A. Sneekes & Zn. from Schagerbrug.
The Plane made to measure
Our Plane series has been used as the basis for the furniture for Jerusalem. The benches from this series are characterized by their steel frames with hardwood beams. The hardwood beams have a large head size so that the heartwood of the beams remains good for years. The benches are spread over three different places on the plan. In this way, several seating areas have been created.
Two of the four benches are based on the Plane single-seat Comfort from our standard range. Two small adjustments have been made to this design: The seating area has been extended by almost one meter and the length of the backrest has even been more than doubled!
The two other sofas are so-called double-seater sofas. This means that both sides of the bench can be seated. The available space outside is used efficiently because one bench seating for two is created. For extra seating comfort, extra backrests have been placed at certain places.

We are proud to announce that one of our clients is nominated for the Amsterdamse Nieuwbouwprijs 2021, namely architectural firm Heren 5. Grijsen is very pleased to have been able to contribute to the nomination of this project. Of course, congratulations go to all parties involved in this project.
