Separate waste collection with the Column 200 litter bin
The municipality of Ede recently started a pilot with five new waste bins from Grijsen. And not just any waste bins, but waste bins for the separate collection of plastic and residual waste flows.

Clean Ede
This pilot is part of the program 'Clean Ede' (Dutch: Ede Schoon) and the new bins replace five standard grey bins. The municipality has consciously chosen separate waste collection in the public space and wants to contribute to optimal waste recycling. This is also in line with the waste separation that the residents of Ede already do at home and the sustainability vision that the municipality has.
A special Column waste bin
Grijsen is proud that the municipality of Ede has chosen the Column 200 litter bin for this trial. It is an ideal litter bin for separate collection thanks to its large volume and the possibility to collect multiple waste streams. What makes this bin special is its hood. This is not a standard top cap that goes with Column 200. The bin is fitted with a top cap that goes with Grijsen's Constructo series.
The bins will be emptied by the SamenWerkBedrijf (SWB) and they will help monitor the waste streams during the pilot. This is to see if the bins are being used properly and the waste is being separated. The pilot will run for several months, after which a recommendation will be made as to how waste separation in the public space in the municipality of Ede can best be continued.
